gcs Global Communication & Services GmbH was founded 1996 in Salzburg, Austria.

The activities of the company are technology research, development and product engineering for systems providing Multimedia Internet Broadcast Services. gcs develops and markets hardware and software components as well as complete solutions for turn-key systems and provides consulting and support services.

gcs collaborates closely with the Multimedia Communication Group within the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Salzburg, which is well established in "Internet via Satellite" technology since 1992.

At September 2009, gcs GmbH received the certification according to ISO 9001:2008 by TÜV Austria (a member of TÜV-CERT).
