December 2011 Launch of the new product HTV120 - HbbTV Playout
The HTV120 device can playout videos as well as HbbTV content. To do so, the video and HbbTV content can be stored on an integrated persistent memory.
Further the HTV120 provides a highly accurate rate control and time-stamping (PCR re-stamping). The unit generates both the necessary Service Information (DVB-SI),
requested by the HbbTV® ETSI standards, and emits the applications' data files as DSM-CC object carousels. The configuration is managed via the integrated Web interface.
gcs received the order to supply ODG200 systems Using the new ODG200 systems allows for an upgrade of existing transmission channels to the DVB-S2 broadcast standard. All modulation and coding rates up to 32APSK, as well as GSE encapsulation are supported. The new ODG200 systems can reduce space segment costs up to 30% depending on the configuration. The ODG200 systems also support the successfully used DataCast© application of gcs to receive huge amounts of earth observation data for secured and encrypted transmission while using IP-multicast and a special transmission protocol developed by gcs. During the last year many 10.000 Gigabyte of data were transmitted to users in Europe and Africa. Change in the Management
Dr. Höller and Dipl.-Ing. Würflinger are responsible for technical development and sales activities. Our personal commitment and high standards

January 2011 gcs provides its Quality Measurement System to Eutelsat ![]()
gcs delivers its well-proven QMS (Quality Measurement System) to Eutelsat for automated measurements of key parameters of the
transponders of its satellite fleet including an automated scanning function to identify DVB carriers. The measurements range
from in-depth TR101290 analysis, measurement of carrier parameters (center frequency, symbol-rate, Eb/No values), examination of
DVB table information, measurement of BER values up to fill factors and idle rates. In addition the QMS is furnished to report IP
relevant parameters for measurement of transponders carrying Internet services.
June 2010 gcs receives order for delivery of IP/DVB encapsulators for DVB-T
gcs delivers equipment of the new generation of its ODG - Open DVB Gateway product-line for a pilot trial proving the usability of the digital dividend for providing Internet access in rural areas. The pilot trial will be conducted in 4 villages in Niedersachsen, Germany. The base technology will be a bi-directional symmetrical radio system, a separate DVB-T based channel will be used as a downstream booster. A DVB-T version of the ODG200 manufactured by gcs will be used for the downstream booster. The ODG200 is a highly versatile device supporting DVB-T and DVB-C, DVB-S, and DVB-S2. Optionally, innovative features such as the new encapsulation technique GSE (Generic Stream Encapsulation) and an integrated DVB-S/S2 modulator are offered. Dr. Bernd Schröder, managing director of brown-iposs and responsible for the planning of the project, is very pleased with the gcs product: "We have recommended the procurement of the product to Network 41, the project prime, after an extensive test-phase, in which the ODG has shown its usability and fitness. We are convinced that the ODG200/DVB-T will prove satisfactory within the pilot trial." Dr. Collini-Nocker, managing director of gcs, states: "The confidence of our customers in the quality of our products is of paramount importance to us. The order of Network 41 shows that only consistent endeavours towards quality and the orientation towards customer demands lead to success. We are pleased that our products are used in DVB-T based applications after their successful deployment in satellite based solutions."
