DataCast

DataCast is our solution for large-scale data distribution over uni- or bi-directional IP-based transmission networks. The underlying transmission protocol uses IP multicast, sophisticated forward error correction (FEC) algorithms and different feed-back based re-transmission schemes. Transmissions are secured and can only be decoded by entitled receivers.

DataCast is a software application comprised of a sender and a receiver part. It can be combined with our IP/DVB equipment to access satellite or terrestrial broadcast distribution links. We also offer integrated receiver devices like the BSR200-DDS, containing the DVB RF and IP/DVB decoder units, the DataCast software as well as (intermediate) storage for storing the received data packages.

With more than 10 years of experience in IP data casting, our DataCast product is now mature and reliable, but of course still subject to continuous improvements. With different transmission profiles, functions and algorithms, learned from many different use-cases and years of operation, DataCast performs well even under worse channel conditions.
