gcs has a long history in transmitting IP data via satellite. Our product DataCast allows to disseminate large amounts of data to a large receiver population using broadcast links.

For example, gcs realized to Envisat DDS (Data Dissemination System) which is used to spread huge amounts of data of the joint European Earth Observation Satellite Envisat amongst a large number of users in Europe, Africa and South America via Eutelsat W2A and the AmerHis Satellite.

Our DataCast product family uses sophisticated forward error correction with optional feedback and strong encryption and authentication mechanisms to provide a secure and reliable service.

The DataCast receiver is available as a software application for many operating systems using COTS DVB-S/S2 cards but also integrated into a dedicate hardware appliance, the BSR200-DDS. This 1RU 19" appliance autonomously receives DataCast transmissions and stores it on the integrated storage. Data can be retrieved using the Web frontend, FTP or via Windows (SMB/CIFS) Shares. Thus, it can be easily deployed and used by a whole department or company in parallel.

We provide the DataCast server components, either with IP/Ethernet, ASI or direct RF (DVB-S/S2/C/T) output, depending on your scenario.

Our DataCast products can be perfectly combined with out SiMPLE product family which accelerates web access and allows to transparently share archives of web sites.
